2011 Izard County Fair
August 9 – 13, 2011

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  WE ARE HAVING A CARNIVAL!!!!!!
CARNIVAL WILL BE OPEN WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.  Weather pending, the carnival will open 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Armbands Wednesday & Thursday nights  $15 or $12 in advance from local merchants
Rodeo Gate Fees:  $5.00 adults, $2.00 ages 7-12, 6 and under free

Beauty Review Gate Fees:  $3.00 adults, $1.00 ages 7-12, and 6 and under free plus contestant gets in free

June 1 , 2011– Online Entries are available.  All livestock strongly encouraged to register this way. Commercial and Educational Booths, Home Economics, Cut Flowers, Food Preparation, Apiary, Field Crops, Horticulture, Egg, Floral and Flower Exhibits online entries available.  Anyone needing assistance registering online, please contact Jeralene Love, Fair Manager at (870)368-4140 or (870)368-7146 or by email at jlove@ncadistrictfair.org

July 1, 2011– Ownership deadline for livestock. 

July 15, 2011 – Entry deadline for anyone entering the livestock Purple Circle, entry can be made either online or paper.  Those entering the County Bred need to have County Bred validation form signed and mailed by July 15, 2011.

July 25, 2011-Deadline for application for Moss-Gallegos Memorial Scholarship.  Applications are available under “Scholarships

August 5, 2011- Online entries END.

12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. — Commercial and Educational Booths, Home Economics (except Cut Flowers and Food Preparation), Apiary, Field Crops, Horticulture, Egg, Floral and Flower Exhibits in place. – Exhibit Building.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011
8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. – Cut Flowers, Aquaculture and Food Preparation Exhibits in place. – Exhibit Building.
9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Exhibit Building closed for judging.
3:00 p.m. to  9:00 p.m. – Exhibit Building open to public.
6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Carnival open. Armband night.

Thursday, August 11, 2011
10:00 a.m. — Exhibit Building open to public.
4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. —Poultry testing – Fairgrounds.
6:00 p.m. — Poultry and Rabbit exhibits in place.  Poultry Barn.
4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. — Horse exhibits in place.  Livestock Barn.
6:00 p.m. – Talent – Boyce and Irene Cook Amphitheater.
6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Carnival open. Armband night.
7:00 p.m. — Horse Judging—Livestock Barn.
9:00 p.m. — Exhibit Building closed.

Friday, August 12, 2011
10:00 a.m. — Exhibit Building open to public.
12:00 Noon  to 5:00 p.m. — Cattle, Sheep, Goat and Swine check in.  Livestock Barn.
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. — Poultry and Rabbit judging.  Poultry Barn.
4:00 p.m. — Team Grooming contest—Livestock Barn.
5:30 p.m. — Poultry Chain Auction.  Poultry Barn.
5:30 p.m. — Goat judging--Showmanship—Wee Jr, Jr., Sr. followed by Dairy Goats and meat Goats.
Immediately followed by Goat Judging, Sheep judging—Showmanship—Wee Jr., Jr., Sr. followed by Market Lambs, Commercial Ewes, Registered Sheep.—All in Livestock Barn.
6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – Carnival open.
7:00 p.m. — Beauty Pageant—Boyce and Irene Cook Amphitheatre.

19 month-3 years, Tiny Mister

7:00 p.m. — Swine judging, Showmanship—Wee Jr., Jr., Sr. Followed by Market Hogs, Commercial
Gilts, Barrows—followed by Breeding Hogs.  Livestock Barn.
7:00 p.m. — Horses check out.
8:00 p.m. — Hall Rodeo at the Arena.
10:00 p.m. — Exhibit Building close.

Saturday, August 13, 2011
8:00 a.m. –Registration for Open Show to be announced.
9:00 a.m. — Junior Cattle Show, followed immediately by the Open Cattle Show.
10:00 a.m. — Exhibit Building open to Public.
12:00 p.m.--- Carnival opens, weather pending
6:00 p.m. — Demolition Derby—Action Pit.
6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – Carnival open.
6:00 p.m. — Livestock Awards—Livestock Barn.
7:00 p.m. — Beauty Pageant—Boyce and Irene Cook Amphitheatre.
 8-10 years, Junior Miss
11-13 years, Young Miss
14-16 years, Junior Fair Queen, winner is eligible to compete in the Arkansas State Fair Junior Fair Queen      
17-21 years, Miss Izard County, winner is eligible to compete in the Arkansas State Fair Queen contest
8:00 p.m. — Hall Rodeo at the Arena.
8:00 p.m. — Goats, Cattle, Sheep, Swine, Poultry and Rabbits check out.
8:00 p.m. — Exhibit Building check out
