Goats – Dept. 19
1. No Bucks,
no exceptions.
2. The Junior Market Goat show is restricted to junior exhibitors.
3. Exhibitors will be limited to two entries in each class.
4. Goats must be owned by exhibitor.
5. All registered goats must have a legible tattoo, as recorded on registration
certificate.
6. Animals must be owned and registered in the exhibitor’s name. No pending
registrations will be accepted.
7. Does and wethers will show but does shown in the dairy goat show may not show
in the market goat show.
8. No minimum or maximum weight
9. Market goats must have baby teeth.
10. Any breed of goat or cross may show in the market show.
11. Goats may have horns but horns must be tipped for safety.
12. Each Vo-Ag Instructor or County Extension agent will be issued a weight
sheet to record the declared weight of the animal. This must be
filled out in ink. Animals must be weighed on official
scales and weight recorded by the superintendent or someone designated by the
superintendent.
13. All entries may be tested for drugs.
14. All Goats must have scrapies tags.
Open
Division Goat Show
1. Open
division will follow the same class breakdowns and rules as the Junior show in
each species.
2. Open division will be at the conclusion of the Junior show.
3. Open exhibitors will only receive premium points and be ineligible for any
added premium monies or awards from the Junior shows.
