AJCA High Point Awards

Izard County was well represented at the 2004 Arkansas Cattlemen’s Convention held in
Hot Springs, November 18-21.

The Arkansas Junior Cattlemen’s Association (AJCA) honored the top showmen in the
state at the annual AJCA banquet held at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

Rachel Nave of Calico Rock received High Point Gelbvieh honors in Arkansas as well as
finishing in the elite Top 5 in Senior Showmanship. Rachel received a custom belt buckle
for her accomplishments.

Lara Moore of Calico Rock was honored as the High Point Simmental Exhibitor in the
state and received a custom belt buckle.

Brian Sanders of Calico Rock earned the Reserve High Point honor for the Salers division.

James Gallegos of Calico Rock was recognized as the Reserve High Point champion
for Maine-Anjou cattle.

Chad Cragle of Calico Rock took the Reserve High Point championship in Charolais.

James Cap of Izard County Consolidated finished in the Top 5 for the Charolais division.

Dewel Pettway of Mt. Pleasant earned the Reserve High Point award for the Hereford
division and was also in the Top 5 for British Commercial Heifers.

Bryce Hutchins of Mt. Pleasant edged out the competition to earn the Reserve High
Point championship in Wee Jr. Showmanship.

Daniel Sanders of Calico Rock earned a Top 5 spot in the Red Angus division and Levi
Parker
, also of Calico Rock, finished in the Top 5 for Wee Jr. Showmanship.

AJCA members compete in AJCA sanctioned shows all across the state of Arkansas
to earn these highly competitive and prestigious awards.

Congratulations to these Izard County youngsters on a job well done!
